Swedish Film Goes Capri. Swedish Film Festival, 3–6 june
Discover Swedish cinema at Villa San Michele!
Each screening will be preceded by a short introduction led by the Director of Villa San Michele together with actors and directors, offering further insight into the films and their themes.
3 June, 8.00 pm, Swedish Film Goes Capri - L’albero
L’albero tells the story of Bianca, a 23-year-old woman living in Rome’s Pigneto district with her friend Angelica. Suspended between university, nightlife, desire and addiction, Bianca tries to make sense of a youth that already feels painful and fleeting. As her bond with Angelica becomes increasingly intense and unstable, friendship, love and dependency begin to blur.
4 June, 8.00 pm, Swedish Film Goes Capri - The Dance Club
The Dance Club tells the story of Johannes, a psychology student who, together with performance artist Rakel, starts an unconventional club with some of his patients. Through movement, community and confrontation, the group tries to process the pain they carry. But as the club grows, Johannes finds it increasingly difficult to hold both the group and himself together.
5 June, 8.00 pm, Swedish Film Goes Capri - Doktor Glas
Inspired by Hjalmar Söderberg’s classic novel, Doktor Glas is a contemporary reinterpretation of the story of physician Gabriel Glas. Lonely and increasingly alienated from the society around him, Glas’s life changes when he meets Helga Gregorius, a celebrated designer trapped in a destructive marriage with the writer Patrik Gregorius.
6 June, 8.00 pm, Swedish Film Goes Capri - Make Democracy Great Again
In the documentary Make Democracy Great Again, Swedish journalist Jan Scherman investigates one of the most urgent questions of our time: will democracy survive? The film portrays a growing democratic decline and examines the threats facing both Sweden and the wider world.
A Summer Dream – Concert Season 2026
As usual, concerts will take place every Friday at 8 pm until 14 August, with with musical direction by Bo Löfvendahl, supported by Progetto Piano and under the patronage of the Embassy of Sweden in Italy.
