Inspired by Hjalmar Söderberg’s classic novel, Doktor Glas is a contemporary reinterpretation of the story of physician Gabriel Glas. Lonely and increasingly alienated from the society around him, Glas’s life changes when he meets Helga Gregorius, a celebrated designer trapped in a destructive marriage with the writer Patrik Gregorius.

Convinced that he can save her, Gabriel is drawn into a web of desire, lies and power games. The closer he gets to Helga, the more fragile his moral boundaries become. Erik Leijonborg’s film transforms one of Swedish literature’s great stories into a psychological thriller about obsession, guilt and self-deception.
